Friday, 8th June 2007 – Maldivian Tourism Industry has achieved another milestone by having four of ADAARAN Resorts becoming the first resorts in the Maldives to achieve the prestigious ISO 22000/HACCP standard. Viernes, 8 de junio de 2007 - Maldivas Industria Turismo ha logrado otro hito al tener cuatro de ADAARAN Resorts convirtiéndose en el primer resort en las Maldivas para lograr el prestigioso 22000/HACCP estándar ISO.

This achievement was announced at a gathering held at the ADAARAN Resort of Hudhuran Fushi on Friday night which was attended by Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Hon Dr. Mahmoodh Shaughee, Managing Director of internationally Accredited certification body SGS Mr. Claude Lanohe, Vice Chairman of ADAARAN Resorts Mr. Rajan Brito and CEO of ADAARAN Resorts, Mr. Chethya Este logro fue anunciado en una reunión celebrada en la ADAARAN Resort de Hudhuran Fushi el viernes por la noche la que asistieron el Ministro de Turismo y Aviación Civil Honorable Dr Mahmoodh Shaughee, Director Gerente del internacionalmente acreditados organismo de certificación SGS Señor Claude Lanohe, Vicepresidente de ADAARAN Resorts Sr Rajan Brito y CEO de ADAARAN Resorts, Sr Chethya

The acclaimed ISO 22000/HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points) standard was received byAdaaran club Rannalhi,Adaaran Select Meedhupparu , Adaaran ayurveda village and Adaaran prestige Water Villas. Such an achievement demonstrates the superior level of service of the resorts in the Maldives which is at par with international standards in rest of the world. Este logro demuestra el nivel superior de servicio de los resorts en los que Maldivas es a la par con las normas internacionales en el resto del mundo. Resorts in the Maldives often receive various international awards for their excellent service; but it’s the first time that a resort in the Maldives has received an award in relation to food safety and food quality standards. Resorts en las Maldivas suelen recibir varios premios internacionales por su excelente servicio, pero es la primera vez que un recurso en las Maldivas ha recibido un premio en relación con la seguridad alimentaria y la calidad de los alimentos. Such an award highlights the importance of delivering high quality service while taking precautions against food safety and quality control that’s equivalent to the international standards. Este premio destaca la importancia de ofrecer un servicio de alta calidad, mientras que tomar precauciones contra la seguridad de los alimentos y el control de calidad que el equivalente a las normas internacionales.

According to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), “ISO 22000 specifies the requirements for a food safety management system in the food chain where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to provide consistently safe end products that meet both the requirements agreed with the customer and those of applicable food safety regulations.” De acuerdo con la Organización Internacional de Normalización (ISO), "ISO 22000 especifica los requisitos para la inocuidad de los alimentos un sistema de gestión de la cadena alimentaria, donde una organización necesita demostrar su capacidad para controlar los riesgos de inocuidad de los alimentos con el fin de proporcionar constantemente la seguridad de productos finales que cumplan tanto los requisitos convenidos con el cliente y los aplicables de la reglamentación sobre seguridad alimentaria. "

In a country like Maldives; where resort islands are scattered all over the country; achieving such a prominent award for food and safety becomes furthermore challenging. Unlike other countries where food and supplies can be transported by land, management of resorts in the Maldives relies most often on sea transportation for such supplies required by the resort.
